Up-cycling 1940's......

No cards made this week but another bit of sewing...
As many of you know we are 1940's reinactors.....lots of clothing is very expensive so I bought this Ferdora hat on EBAY and did some cutting and stitching, adding some ribbon a feather and this is what I ended up with.....

                                            Side view.....
                                                                Back View
                                                 Front View

As you know these hats are worn on the side of your head and tilted forward, when we are next in Costume I will let you see the full effect....I shall be looking through the charity shops now for more hats to redesign....

Back to card making tomorrow...
Enjoy your weekend...

A little bit of sewing....

I suppose this bag could be used in the Snippets challenge as well as its all made from snippets of fabric....a very handy little bag and I just loved the patterned fat quarter with the mauves and greens and just had enough to use on the top of my bag.... like scraps of card its amazing what you can do with 'snippets' of fabric left over from larger projects...

Had a lovely time cooking with my grandson talk about marthon bake off, he made Raspberry cheesecake, jam tarts, chocolate brownies, cheese straws and he also prepared an evening meal of chicken in sauce (not too keen on handling meat though) and did lots of chopping of vegatables for lunchtime soup....
I bought him 3 cook books....two Mary Berry ones which he loved....he facetimed me last night to show me the Pavalova he'd (From one of his Mary Berry books) made for their pudding.... such a joy to see a young man enjoying cooking...I'm afraid to say he doesn't take after his mum!!

Back to card making tomorrow...

Pixies Snippets Challenge week 163...

Another week flown by and another Snippets Challenge...
I'm busy sewing at the moment so card making has taken a back seat, but I did make this small card using my new Inktense pencils....very different from pencils I've used before and the colours are so vibrant...
Apart from the main image which is Hobby Art 'Floral Display'   stamped onto watercolour card everything else is from my snippets box....Sue Wilson's Petite vinery, border punch is a Cheery Lynne one, backing paper also from my snippets box.

We have a lovely sunny but cold and frosty morning down here is Somerset there have been some lovely frosted scenes in the mornings.

Back to my sewing machine now...will post something I've made later in the week...

Pixies Snippets Challenge...week 162..

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past week or so but I've been busy doing card samples for our craft meeting next week.... Also we've been out and about.

My card for this weeks Pixies Snippets challenge  is a really simple one...I went to Westpoint Crafts4Crafts show last Thursday and couldn't resist this stamp, it comes from Honey Doo Crafts, I tried putting ribbon and other embellishments on the card but to me it look better leaving it plain.  I've mounted the sentiment onto a Sue Wilson frame, the chocolate brown glitter card doesn't show up on the photograph...backing paper is old SU DP....
